🇮🇹 SOFFIANDO NEL VENTO
Una riflessione per la Domenica di Pentecoste (23-05-2021)

I.
Tutti noi conosciamo la famosa canzone di Bob Dylan “Blowin’ in the wind” che lo rese famoso quasi 60 anni fa (1962) e che contribuì forse a valergli il nobel per la letteratura nel 2016. Fu tradotta in italiano, e cantata ripetutamente in ogni luogo, anche nelle chiese. La traduzione alla quale ci hanno abituato però è sbagliata. Dopo gli interrogativi esistenziali sull’uomo e sul mondo, alla domanda quante strade si dovranno ancora percorrere prima di avere una risposta, il ritornello in italiano diceva: “Risposta non c’è, o forse chi lo sa, perduta nel vento sarà”. Ma non era questa la risposta data da Bob Dylan, il quale invece disse “The answer my friend, is blowin’ in the wind”, e cioè “La risposta amico mio sta soffiando nel vento”. Nel 1997 al Congresso Eucaristico di Bologna, dopo che Bob Dylan cantò davanti a Papa Giovanni Paolo II, il papa rispose così ai giovani che gli avevano posto le stesse interrogazioni di Blowin’ in the wind: «La risposta alle domande della vostra vita “sta soffiando nel vento”. È vero! Però non nel vento che tutto disperde nei vortici del nulla, ma nel vento che è soffio e voce dello Spirito, voce che chiama e dice “vieni!”. Mi avete chiesto: quante strade deve percorrere un uomo per potersi riconoscere uomo? Vi rispondo: una! Una sola è la strada dell’uomo, e questa è Cristo, che ha detto "Io sono la via”».
San Giovanni Paolo II era davvero un comunicatore formidabile, soprattutto con i giovani.
II.
I discepoli dopo l’ascensione di Gesù al cielo, invece di seguire il comando del maestro “Andate in tutto il mondo”, sono andati a rinchiudersi nel cenacolo. Invece di andare a incendiare il mondo hanno preferito mettersi al sicuro. Ecco che allora Dio interviene di nuovo, stavolta nella persona dello Spirito Santo, per sbatterli fuori dal cenacolo e spingerli sulle strade del mondo. Scende sugli apostoli sotto forma di lingue di fuoco per trasformarli da pompieri in incendiari. E da quel giorno gli apostoli sono partiti e sono andati nel mondo intero, battezzando nel nome del Padre e del Figlio e dello Spirito Santo.
Anche su di noi, come è avvenuto per gli apostoli, è sceso lo Spirito Santo e ci ha riempito di doni, precisamente ci ha dato 7 doni. Probabilmente però li abbiamo ricevuti come quei doni che non abbiamo aperto mai, o li abbiamo persi o dimenticati in treno… Oggi dunque, solennità della Pentecoste è il giorno propizio per scartare i sette regali che lo Spirito Santo ci ha dato da molto tempo e che abbiamo messo in soffitta. Scartando questi doni ci accorgeremo che sono come quei doni che apri e poi piangi perché sono bellissimi.
III.
Il dono del CONSIGLIO è il dono del saper ascoltare la voce di Dio, i suoi consigli. Non fare sempre e solo di testa nostra. Quando dobbiamo prendere delle decisioni importanti, quando ci sentiamo confusi, quando non sappiamo che strada intraprendere, il dono del consiglio ci aiuta a discernere, fidarci delle persone sagge e ci da la serenità di aver fatto la scelta giusta.
Il dono della SCIENZA è il dono di conoscere la verità del mondo e cioè di studiare e conoscere il creato nella sua verità, come creazione di Dio. La conoscenza scientifica ci porterà non solo a conoscere ma anche ad amare e costudire il mondo, la natura, tutta la creazione.
Il dono dell’INTELLETTO è il dono che ci aiuta a comprendere la verità di Dio.
Se la scienza ci fa conoscere la verità del mondo, l’intelletto ci fa conoscere la verità di Dio. Ci fa leggere dentro le cose (intus-legere), nella loro verità più profonda.
Il dono della SAPIENZA è il dono che ci fa discernere e amare la volontà di Dio.
Il sapiente non è solo colui che sa, ma che vive quello che sa, e sa discernere il bene e il male, nella serenità e nella pace.
Il dono della FORTEZZA è il dono che ci aiuta a resistere al male e a combatterlo, a superare i momenti di difficoltà, di sconforto, di dubbi, a sopportare le fatiche e le sofferenze e affrontare e vincere le tentazioni.
Il dono del TIMOR DI DIO è il dono che ci aiuta a rispettare Dio. Non è tanto il timore di essere castigati da Dio, ma quello di offenderlo e di perderlo.
Infine il dono della PIETÀ (Pietas) è il dono di amare Dio come Padre.
Questo dono ci da la gioia di sentirci amati da Dio e di farci innamorare di Lui.
IV.
Perchè lo Spirito Santo ci ha mandato tutti questi regali? Per aiutarci a raggiungere la felicità, per vivere in pienezza, per diventare santi. Ognuno di noi ha i suoi doni da far fruttificare (come per i talenti del vangelo). I Doni sono come talenti che ci vengono dati in nuce, come sementi, ma che dobbiamo sviluppare, far crescere.
Se qualcuno avesse il dono per la musica ma non si mette sotto a studiare, a esercitarsi, non diventerà mai un vero musicista.
Senza la nostra partecipazione questi doni non potranno fare nulla, come il dono della fede che se non è alimentato dalla preghiera, dalla lettura della Parola di Dio, dai sacramenti, da una vita morale… seccherà e potremo perderlo. Così anche i doni dello Spirito Santo potremo perderli se non li facciamo crescere.
V.
E allora quante strade l’uomo dovrà percorrere ancora per potersi riconoscere come uomo? Una sola, quella di Cristo. È questa la risposta che sta soffiando nel vento dello Spirito Santo, e cioè che l’uomo è uomo quando si riconosce:
fiducioso (consiglio),
cercatore (scienza),
intelligente (intelletto),
saggio (sapienza),
forte (fortezza),
timoroso (timor di Dio) e
amante (pietà).
Si dice che gli uomini quando sono giovani sono degli incendiari ma poi muoiono tutti pompieri.
Lo Spirito Santo invece con i suoi doni, ha acceso in noi un fuoco che nessun pompiere potrà mai spegnere.

Todos nós conhecemos a famosa canção de Bob Dylan, "Blowin 'in the wind", que o tornou famoso há quase 60 anos (1962) e que talvez o tenha ajudado a ganhar o Prêmio Nobel de Literatura em 2016. Foi traduzida para o italiano e cantada repetidamente em todos os lugar, mesmo em igrejas. No entanto, a tradução com que nos acostumaram está errada. Depois das indagações existenciais sobre o homem e o mundo, quando questionado sobre quantos caminhos ainda será preciso percorrer antes de ter uma resposta, o refrão em italiano dizia: “Não há resposta, ou quem sabe, vai se perder no vento”. Mas esta não foi a resposta dada por Bob Dylan, o qual disse “The answer my friend, is blowin’ in the wind", ou seja, “A resposta meu amigo está soprando no vento". Em 1997, no Congresso Eucarístico de Bolonha, depois que Bob Dylan cantou diante do Papa João Paulo II, o Papa respondeu aos jovens que lhe fizeram as mesmas perguntas de Blowin’ in the wind: «A resposta às perguntas sobre a vossa vida "está soprando no vento". É verdade! Mas não no vento que tudo dispersa nos redemoinhos do nada, mas no vento que é o sopro da voz do Espírito, uma voz que chama e diz “vem!”. Você me perguntou: quantas estradas um homem deve percorrer para poder se reconhecer como homem? Eu te respondo: uma! Só existe um caminho para o homem, e este é Cristo, que disse "Eu sou o caminho"».
São João Paulo II foi realmente um comunicador formidável, especialmente com os jovens.
II.
Os discípulos, após a ascensão de Jesus ao céu, em vez de seguir a ordem do mestre "Ide por todo o mundo", foram se fechar no Cenáculo. Em vez de colocar fogo no mundo, eles preferiram estar seguros. Aqui, então, Deus intervém novamente, desta vez na pessoa do Espírito Santo, para expulsá-los do Cenáculo e empurrá-los nas estradas do mundo. Desce sobre os apóstolos na forma de línguas de fogo para transformá-los de bombeiros em incendiários. E desde aquele dia os apóstolos partiram e foram por todo o mundo, batizando em nome do Pai e do Filho e do Espírito Santo.
Também sobre nós, como aconteceu com os apóstolos, o Espírito Santo desceu e nos encheu de dons, justamente ele nos deu 7 dons. Mas provavelmente os recebemos como aqueles dons que nunca abrimos, ou os perdemos ou esquecemos no trem ... Hoje, portanto, a solenidade de Pentecostes é o dia propício para desembrulhar os sete dons que o Espírito Santo nos deu faz muito tempo e que colocamos no sótão. Ao descartar esses presentes, perceberemos que são como aqueles presentes que você abre e depois chora de emoção porque são lindos.
III.
O dom do CONSELHO é o dom de saber ouvir a voz de Deus, o seu conselho. Não agir sempre de cabeça nossa sem escutar a ninguém). Quando temos que tomar decisões importantes, quando nos sentimos confusos, quando não sabemos que caminho seguir, o dom do conselho nos ajuda a discernir, confiar em pessoas sábias e nos dá a serenidade de termos feito a escolha certa.
O dom da CIÊNCIA é o dom de conhecer a verdade sobre o mundo, ou seja, de estudar e conhecer a criação em sua verdade, como criação de Deus. O conhecimento científico nos levará não só a conhecer, mas também a amar e cuidar do mundo, natureza, toda a criação.
O dom de INTELECTO é o dom que nos ajuda a entender a verdade de Deus.
Se a ciência nos faz conhecer a verdade do mundo, o intelecto nos faz conhecer a verdade de Deus, nos faz ler as coisas por dentro (intus-legere), na sua verdade mais profunda.
O dom da SABEDORIA é o dom que nos faz discernir e amar a vontade de Deus.
O sábio não é apenas aquele que sabe, mas que vive o que conhece e sabe discernir o bem e o mal, na serenidade e na paz.
O dom da FORÇA é o dom que nos ajuda a resistir ao mal e a combatê-lo, a superar os momentos de dificuldade, desânimo, dúvidas, a suportar o cansaço e o sofrimento e a enfrentar e superar as tentações.
O dom do TEMOR DE DEUS é o dom que nos ajuda a respeitar a Deus, não é tanto o medo de ser punido por Deus, mas de ofendê-lo e perdê-lo.
Finalmente, o dom da PIETY (Pietas) é o dom de amar a Deus como Pai.
Este presente dá-nos a alegria de nos sentirmos amados por Deus e de nos apaixonar por Ele.
IV.
Por que o Espírito Santo nos enviou todos esses dons? Para nos ajudar a alcançar a felicidade, a viver plenamente, a nos tornarmos santos. Cada um de nós tem seus dons para dar frutos (como os talentos do evangelho). Os Dons são como talentos que nos são dados como sementes, e que devemos desenvolver, fazer crescer.
Se alguém tem o dom da música, mas não vai estudar, praticar, nunca se tornará músico.
Sem a nossa participação estes dons nada poderão fazer, como o dom da fé que se não se alimenta da oração, da leitura da Palavra de Deus, dos sacramentos, da vida moral ... vai secar e poderemos perdê-la. Portanto, mesmo os dons do Espírito Santo, poderemos perdê-los se não os fizermos crescer.
V.
Então, quantas estradas o homem ainda terá que percorrer para ser capaz de se reconhecer como homem? Apenas uma, a de Cristo. Esta é a resposta que sopra no vento do Espírito Santo, ou seja, que o homem é homem quando se reconhece:
confiante (conselho),
pesquisador (ciência),
inteligente (intelecto),
sábio (sabedoria),
forte (fortaleza),
teimoso (temor a Deus) e
amante (pena).
Diz-se que quando os homens são jovens, eles são incendiários, mas todos morrem como bombeiros.
O Espírito Santo, por outro lado, com seus dons, acendeu em nós um fogo que ninguém jamais será capaz de apagar.
🇬🇧 BLOWING IN THE WIND

We all know Bob Dylan's famous song "Blowin 'in the wind" which made him famous almost 60 years ago (1962) and which perhaps helped earn him the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2016. It was translated into Italian, and sung repeatedly in every place, even in churches. However, the translation they have accustomed us to is wrong. After the existential questions about man and the world, when the song asked how many paths one still has to travel before having an answer, the refrain in Italian said: "There is no answer, or maybe who knows, it will be lost in the wind". But this was not the answer given by Bob Dylan, in which he instead said "The answer my friend, is blowin 'in the wind". In 1997 at the Eucharistic Congress in Bologna, after Bob Dylan sang in front of Pope John Paul II, the pope replied to the young people who had asked him the same questions as Blowin 'in the wind: «The answer to the questions of your life" is blowing in the wind ". It's true! But not in the wind that disperses everything in the whirlpools of nothing, but in the wind that is the breath and voice of the Spirit, a voice that calls and says “come!”. You asked me: how many roads must a man travel to be able to recognize himself as a man? I answer you: one! There is only one way for man, and this is Christ, who said "I am the way”».
Saint John Paul II was truly a formidable communicator, especially with young people.
II.
The disciples after Jesus' ascension into heaven, instead of following the master's command "Go into all the world", went to shut themselves up in the Upper Room. Instead of setting the world on fire, they preferred to be safe. Here then God intervenes again, this time in the person of the Holy Spirit, to throw them out of the Upper Room and push them on the roads of the world. He descends on the apostles in the form of tongues of fire to transform them from firefighters into arsonists. And from that day the apostles left and went into the whole world, baptizing in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Also on us, as happened to the apostles, the Holy Spirit descended and filled us with gifts, precisely he gave us 7 gifts. But we probably received them as those gifts that we never opened, or we lost or forgotten them on the train ... Today, therefore, the Solemnity of Pentecost is the propitious day to unwrap the seven gifts that the Holy Spirit has given us for a long time and which we put in the attic. By discarding these gifts we will realize that they are like those gifts that you open and then cry because they are so beautiful.
III.
The gift of the COUNCIL is the gift of knowing how to listen to God's voice, his advice. Do not always and only do our own thing. When we have to make important decisions, when we feel confused, when we don't know which path to take, the gift of advice helps us to discern, trust wise people and give us the serenity of having made the right choice.
The gift of SCIENCE is the gift of knowing the truth about the world, that is, of studying and knowing creation in its truth, as God's creation. Scientific knowledge will lead us not only to know but also to love and care for the world, nature, all creation.
The gift of INTELLECT is the gift that helps us understand God's truth.
If science makes us know the truth of the world, the intellect makes us know the truth of God. It makes us read things inside (inputs-legere), in their deepest truth.
The gift of WISDOM is the gift that makes us discern and love God's will.
The wise man is not only the one who knows, but who lives what he knows, and knows how to discern good and evil, in serenity and peace.
The gift of STRENGTH is the gift that helps us to resist evil and to fight it, to overcome moments of difficulty, discouragement, doubts, to endure fatigue and suffering and to face and overcome temptations.
The gift of FEAR OF GOD is the gift that helps us to respect God. It is not so much the fear of being punished by God, but that of offending and losing him.
Finally, the gift of PIETY (Pietas) is the gift of loving God as Father.
This gift gives us the joy of feeling loved by God and making us fall in love with Him.
IV.
Why did the Holy Spirit send us all these gifts? To help us achieve happiness, to live fully, to become saints. Each of us has his gifts to bear fruit (as for the talents of the gospel). The Gifts are like talents that are given to us like seeds, but that we must develop, make grow.
If someone has a gift for music but doesn't go into studying, practicing, he will never become a musician.
Without our participation these gifts will not be able to do anything, like the gift of faith which if it is not nourished by prayer, by the reading of the Word of God, from the sacraments, from a moral life… will dry up and we will be able to lose it. So even the gifts of the Holy Spirit we can lose them if we do not make them grow.
V.
So how many roads will man still have to travel in order to recognize himself as a man? Only one, that of Christ. This is the answer that is blowing in the wind of the Holy Spirit, namely that man is man when he recognizes himself:
confident (advice),
resercher (science),
intelligent (intellect),
wise (wisdom),
strong (fortress),
fearful (fear of God) e
lover (pity).
It is said that when men are young they are arsonists but then they all die as firefighters.
The Holy Spirit, on the other hand, with his gifts, lit a fire in us that no one will ever be able to extinguish.
